Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association (THBB) that has endeavored for the production of concrete complying with the standards and for ensuring an accurate concrete application in constructions in Turkey for 32 years has announced its Scrutiny Report for the Izmir Earthquake. The Report drawn up upon examining some heavily damaged buildings and testing the samples taken revealed that the use of low-quality concrete and reinforcement steel that fails to comply with the standards, as well as serious engineering and application weaknesses in the buildings, along with the ground structure, caused destruction in the Izmir Earthquake.
